I have been actively looking into finding some sort of transcript for this school. No one has any info on them. Currently, most colleges don't eccept HS diapolmas anymore. I have 77 crdeits and still need my HS transcript to get my student loan money. If anyone has found any information out please contact me. Try any other schools you have attended through the years. Some places keep them. I am kicking myself in the ass now for going to this f'd up school.

The Illinois state board of education says that they have transcript's from 1980 and under, I have filled out a form for the State's attorney general again i wanna try to start a civil action law suit against them and if anyone wants to email me about this my email is garciacelina@yahoo.com, you can they cook county sherrifs dept and the landlord of the building are both looking for the owner of Cosmopoltin prep who name is ?David Martinez? which is sorta like a WHERE'S WALDO Situation, I also suggest that people start contacting your local news agency. the more people work on this the more that gets done.

My brother went to this school this year. The school's name was changed to Marian prep. He showed up for school like any other day but this this day there was a note that they were closed. My mom called the school and left several messages but never heard back from the school. Come to fine out that the school was no longer open and my mom was out all that money that she had paid. My mother called the board of education and she was told that there has been alot of complaints about this school. I was told that you could get your high school transcripsa from the Chicago Board of education. The phone number is 773-535-7722. I hope this information is helpful.

As part of being a activist for this WHOLE situation What the previous person said is somewhat true, the fact that marian prep just closed down, but the chicago board of education DOES NOT have the transcrpits because they are not a CHICAGO PUBLIC SCHOOL!! The board of education does not have them because they were never accepted as an accredited High School, there for it was like opening a home school, that essientially anyone can do. It is not illegal and the only way to solve your problem is like me to hire an attorney or get together as a whole and start really complaining to the Attorney General's office.

hi everyone, I just recieved a confirmation letter from the State's Attorney General and I will have some info to tell you guys as soon as by the end of the week!!! Thats good I am getting some where!!I also know a couple of attorneys that are handling this and as soon as I the attorney tells me I can go ahead and post what the letter says and if there is light at the end of this tunnel for all of us then I will le everyone know, I personally have an appointment with some one from the state so i will also let you know how that goes and i have told the appropriate people about this website and they are monitoring it and they will also post there contact info as soon as this lawsuit is official, my contact info is garciacelina@yahoo.com if you need anymore info....thanks

Way to go Celina. Much appreciated. F.Y.I>>>> Even if you do obtain your high school diploma from these creeps...it is INVALID. Cosmopolitan was an unaccredited high school. This it what I was told by the Registars office at both Truman College and Harold Washington College. Call the Dean of Registrar or Dean of Admissions at your school and ask what recourse you should take. H.Washington and Truman will let you take a placement test called "ability to benefit" which will give you the eqivalent of a high school diploma placement. Celina....keep us informed.

Its unbelievable. The problem with Cosmopolitan is that they never turned in transcripts for there students because they were not accredited. Meaning....The diploma means nothing anyway. The Illinois State Board of Education doesn't recognize this school as a school. I spoke to someone in the same office and they said these people disappeared into thin air and there is no record of any of us getting a diploma.

I would like to know some more information about Marin prep, like how anyone else heard about it and when was the last date anyone attended, because just like many of you I have a family memeber that attended marin and was just weeks away from graduating when he was told that the school was only going to be closed for a week because of a gas leak but it turns out it was all a lie. What is going on, I have mailed Cosmo twice from the po box the lisa tuban gave me. And I sent in a $5.00 money order. Which I will now try to recv back. Please let get together to get this thing straighten out. If this is true, Every thing I done so far is no good. I hope my job is not affected by me not have a real high school. I thought that part of life was behind me. I even went to college after that. Guess that was no good either. I am going to look into getting my high school diploma /ged now. I will do what I have to, but if i don't then i would like to know this. I emailed garcia celina and she has not emailed me back regarding the letter she recvd from the attrny general. I just want to know if we have to go back to get a ged or not. I really want to go to college soon. And I would like to know how for 20 years this school existed and sent out transcripts which i personally went to college and other training facilities. Actually the job i started two years ago verified w/cosmospolitan that i graduated. There's got to be something right about this school or the law didn't care that so many people were being duped. The school was being run by minnimum wage employees and I doubt the teachers were even accredited. I had Mr. Lawrence back in 1985 who claimed he had been abduted by aliens not just once but many times. With me red flags started going up even as a 17 year old. In english Mr. Rappaold had us write a poem and read it in front of the class. After I read my poem he told everyone it was about smoking weed. Nothing could have been further from the truth and I could not believe a teacher would act that way in front of a class. Where did these people come from? Better yet, where did they go?

I called the board of education to find out that they have had alot of inquiries about this school.My son is in the same situation.They gave me the following address and said that they were sending out diplomas.I wrote a week ago and have my fingers crossed..It is as follows.... what is going on? my sister in law also went to this school, and when she completed the clsses she went for her diploma, only to find out this school had closed. is there any new info on this case? why did the city permit these folks to lure people and trick them for so many years, did they just want someone to occupy that space? or did they not care because the people that were being tricked were mainly minorities???? they need some answers and their money back!! it's not fair!!

I went to this shcool in 2001 and graduated I did receive my transcripts from this school. Actually I received multiple transcripts. I also went to college after I graduated at Moraine Valley in Palos then transferred to Harold Washington. I actually just had a problem with this school when I went to apply for the Cook County Sheriff's test. They told me that this school is not recognized by the state of Illinois, which I do not understand because then how could I have gone to college and through life with out ever having a problem. I do plan to find out exactly what happened to this school and how I can rectify this situation. If it comes to be that this was all a hoax I plan on filing a lawsuit and getting reimbursed. My advice to everyone that is looking for their transcripts is that you forget about ever getting them and just obtain a G.E.D. I know that it sucks but there really are not any other options for the simple reason that you just don't know how long of a process all of this is going to be.
