School Alumni
I am a member of the first graduating class of State Line Christian in 1980. I am seeking information regarding other members or if there is an alumni association. My children are curious about my school and I am having difficulty locating a website. We currently have 3 children in high school at Calvary Baptist Academy (my daughter will graduate in 2007). I am seeking information regarding Sherry Edwards, class of 1980 and Joy Hamilton, class of 1981. I recently read during my online search that Paul Worley had returned to Lewis Ave. as an assistant pastor. Please forward any information,

not so sure
i think that stateline is a wonderful place for your elementary children. The teachers are wonderful and the cirriculum is outstanding. On the other hand i would not send my child there 7th-12th grade because i feel that the focus is more on what you should wear, how you should act, and the GREY matters of the bible; rather than the child's education. I attended stateline 1st through 6th grade and then again 9th -10th grade. when i changed schools in my junior year i was so lost i got horrible grades and i was behind my grade. so take it from one who's been there.

Regarding Laura Watson
Hi, Laura. I don't think the school has a website, but you could probably contact them at 734-847-6771. They might have info. on the people that you are looking for. Also Paul Worley left to Pastor a church in either N.Carolina or S.Carolina either a year or two ago - once again I'm sure they would have info. for you. I graduated about 6 years ago, but I still visit occasionally.

To Laura (Luff) Watson
Hi Laura! It's Susan Simons (now Rex) --- Class of 81. Sherry Edwards is now Sherry Eishen. She married Paul Eishen. Joy Hamilton is now Joy LeGrand. She lives in Virginia Beach, VA with her husband Jack and two children (Shelly and Jack Jr). Since Joy and I graduated together and went to Tennessee Temple together, I keep in touch with her somewhat. She is super busy and is very hard to get ahold off. Hope that answers some of your questions.

Hey, I am still in touch with many of the first 4 years graduates, and some of the ones after (who don't make me feel too old. They don't have a website, but they should. As a matter of fact, it costs less than paying for reunions or classmates. Surprised that no one has done it. 30 days (I like to give others the opportunity from time to time) and I will register StateLineAlumni.com I'm sooo excited and adament about us keeping in touch.

ps
ps..David, is your mom still as beautiful (inside AND out), and one of the most wonderful women I have EVER met? You probably have your dad's rebellious spirit... that's ok..we all do it. I respect your dad more than he respects me.... The reason I know that is because he taught me about handshakes, and the last few he gave me.. Still, he taught me more than most could. Mr's Hardima, Bourne, Barrick, and others agree. (though none of us would probably admit it face to face after the handshakes :-)

SLCS!
State Line Christian School was the best school I could have ever been to. Everybody was fantastic! The teachers, the principal (who is still principal to this day), and the students. My dad, before me, went to this school and held many memories from it - even the principal of the school had been his teacher at one point! What I have heard from former students (friends that have left later after me) was something so terryifing and horrible. I never knew that SLCS: the school of God, the school of excellent passing students, the school of unfavorable trends: could ever sink so low as to have somebody, Mr. Hobbins, run after such power! SLCS IS about God! Isn't God the one who has the power, the ability to show us where we are supposed to go? Oh, and don't bother talking about the many things you have been building on from the tuition you've made us pay - horrible! My family nearly went poor, and that's why I left. State Line Christian used to be such a great school before they ran around eating the power they were given. I can see why many of the students at SLCS have become hostile all of a sudden. I would like to personally thank Miss Stevenson, Mrs. Corkran, Mrs. Flickenger, Mrs. Minnich, Miss Hall, and Mrs. Hobbins for all their teachings as I went through SLCS. From there, I have learned to read, write, type, and talk extremely well. Surprisingly, coming from where I used to live (east side of Toledo), I broke from those habits. Now I live in a small home with my brother, sister, mom, dad, and grandma (with some pets), and I currently go to Springfield Highschool. My 3rd grade teacher, Mrs. Minnich, would definetely remember my struggles towards the end of the year. I would like to let her know that at one point I failed 7th grade, and I have never broken out of the habit of not turning in my homework. Straight 'A' student? Not anymore. I've broken all motivation, and I feel as if I let down all of my teachers at SLCS. Thank you all, again. Especially you Mrs. Tate, (office lady) for putting up with me and my 'sickness's' almost every week. Haha. I love SLCS. Please... don't lose your eyesights on God. Sincerely, 9th grade of Springfield High School - Mariah Jean Gore. Alumni of State Line Christian School. (P.S. If anyone of you remember me, the little girl who kept beating Ashley Meade, - still can - and the girl with the gap in her two front teeth, contact me! IMMEDIATELY!

NICOLE
Hey. I completely agree with you, but I believe that they started that in 4th grade. Miss Hall, the 4th grade teacher that I had, focused on me and attempted to turn me Republican. She kept critizising my Democratic response to her, "The Government" essay, and gave me a C when I deserved an A. SLCS has changed way too much, and I will never send my childeren there.... ever... Christian should have been replaced with IF-Baptist.
As someone previouly stated, SLCS is a GREAT school for someone looking to establish their children in Christian values. But i wouldnt recommend the school past elementary. There is very little emphasis on developing your own faith. All the basis for the christianity i learned there was not up for any thought or debate. "That's just the truth and we don't need to talk about it" was the way i felt many times at SLCS. The Education aspect of the school is lacking. While they are above normal in developing early reading skills, the High school academics prepares you very poorly for a college career. I Recieved a 3.89 while at SLCS with very little if any studying. And yet while at college i struggled to get a 3.0. Math is the area in which the school lacks the most. I basically taught our math class my senior year as opposed to watching a tape because of the lack of a teacher. All of that being said, there are some really great people at SLCS! Mrs. Loudenslager would have to be one of my favorites. She had a genuine love Christ and she had an awesome grasp on everything she was teaching. Also, some of you should remember MR Peters. Me and my classmates desperately owe him an apology. He was a very sincere man, and we treated him very inapropriately. And as i previously stated, most of the elementary teachers are of the utmost quality. They care for each student and give personal attn that can be required for all levels of students. IF you have any specific questions, i will give you my personal opinion on any matter. and Keep in mind, that is all any of these posts are...opinion! The best way to decide if this school is for you or your kids is to either attend or investigate thoroughly. **Class of 2001**

SLCS
I am also a graduate of Stateline, and am not sure if this is the same "wonderful" school some of you claim to have attended. I remember a different school with different memories. Do you wonder why there are no reunions? no keeping in touch? Those who know the real school want nothing to do with the school and are trying to forget their experience at Stateline.

proud
I just graduated this year, and I have to disagree (not being rude) with laura. Stateline has made many great memories for me to keep, and me and my whole class feel like family around each other. I do agree, that some of the classes lacked here and there, but when I look at some of the public schools that only focus on academics and not morals and conduct, and how they just let students sleep and goof around in class, I'm quite proud to say that I'm a state line graduate.

Everyone in entitled to their opinion.... thank you for yours. Ask people that have graduated and see how many class reunions there are, wait to see how close you are in 20 years. My class has had 1 reunion in 20 years, ask them why. See how many other people really had a great experience.
